GOD, THE GIVER OF LIFE

When we read Genesis 2:7, we can learn how God created the first human being on the earth. It says, "Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man's nostrils, and the man became a living person." The word "formed" in the above verse gives a picture of a potter forming the shape of clay. By using the dust of the ground, similar to what we have now, God designed and shaped our heads, bodies, hands, and feet, including every intricate part of our internal organs. The theory of Evolution is out the door because human bodies came from the dust of the ground and not from apes, as the evolutionists claimed. After God finished forming our bodies, there was no life until He breathed or blew a wind into our nostrils (nose). Once God blew the wind of life into Adam's nostrils, the soul and spirit came into him and became alive. Through Adam's soul, he had feelings and was able to learn and understand things with the morality of God. God is the source of life. A body can exist, but that doesn't mean that it has life. God has to bring life to a body in order for it to become alive.

Scientists who are in the field of Biotechnology tried to clone human beings. They are no known successful cloning of human beings yet because they may clone the cells of the human bodies, but that doesn't mean they can clone the life that God gives. The limitation of science is the natural part of creation. Eve was formed out of the body of Adam, so she, too, came from the dust of the earth. Since all of us came from Adam and Eve, we all came from the dust of the earth. Genesis 3:19 says, "By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return." When it is time for God to take away the life that He has entrusted to us, our bodies will return to dust. Adam and Eve are the center of God's creation because human beings are created in His image to have relationships with Him. We are created for God's glory. Human beings are not an accident. We didn't suddenly exist because of time and chance.

God created us for His purpose, and His purpose in our lives is what He created us for. A life of obedience to His Word is what we are created to be. Our desire to disobey God is influenced by Satan. We will discuss this more in the coming devotions.

Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) How did I become a human being? Why did God create me? What are the things that God shows me in today's devotion?

Take a moment to write down all your worries today. Then, lift them to God in prayer, surrendering them to His will and trusting in His guidance.

Prayer:

Dear Father in Heaven, I humbly come before you, acknowledging that you are my creator. I don't exist because of time and chance, as the evolutionists teach, but you created me from the dust and gave me life. There are many things that I do not understand about life, but I trust in your ways because you are the giver of life. Please continue to teach me your ways that I may walk in your ways. In your name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
