TRUE FORGIVENESS

Forgiveness is a process in which the guilty person has been pardon from all the wrong things that he/she has done. And everything that the person has done wrong can no longer be used against him/her. The person is entirely free from the penalty of his/her wrongdoings. When our God forgives us of our sins, He completely removes our sins from us. He does not use our past sins to condemn us. God does not make a list of our past sins and use them against us in the future. In Hebrews 8:12, God told his people, Israel, that He would be merciful toward their sins, and He would remember their sins no more. Despite all the sins that the nation of Israel had done, God had completely forgiven them.

In the same manner, when God forgives our sins, we are completely forgiven. God does not remember our past sins; therefore, we do not need to live in guilt and shame. But instead, we need to live in thankfulness that God has forgiven us. Satan loves to remind us of our past mistakes and sins and put in our minds that we are not good enough. The truth of the matter is that we cannot go back to correct the things that we have done in the past. However, God took care of all of them through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. Through our Lord Jesus, we are free and forgiven from our past sins. God is telling us to move on and make godly decisions in our present time.

There is no sin that God cannot forgive. No matter what we had done, the blood of Jesus Christ that He shed on the cross is strong enough to wash away our sins. The moment we believe in the Lord Jesus as our Lord and Savior and confess our sins to Him, we are completely forgiven. There is nothing that we can add to what our Lord Jesus had done on the cross. So when we are in doubt of our forgiveness, we need to remember the cross. It was the cross that made it possible for our complete forgiveness. Let us not walk in guilt and shame any longer, but let us walk in God's freedom of forgiveness.

Ask yourself these questions: Have I confessed all my sins to God? What happens when I confess all my sins to God? Do I still live in guilt and shame from the past sins and mistakes that I have made?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, I confess all my sin to you, and please forgive me for all the sins that I have done. Thank you that you chose not to remember my past sin no more. You have set me free from my past sin, so please help me not to live in guilt and shame any longer. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
