Today is another day, and people are busy going to school, work, and doing their daily chores. As believers, we need not forget that there will be a time when our Lord Jesus Christ will come back for us to take us to be with Him. No one knows when our Lord Jesus will come back; He can come back anytime. He can come back an hour from now, tonight, tomorrow, next week, or ten years from now or beyond.
Maybe you have seen advertisements on billboards that predicts the return of our Lord Jesus, but no one has predicted the correct date yet. The reason is that no one knows when God will decide the time of the coming of our Lord Jesus. The Bible says that Jesus will come like a thief in the night. A thief does not come to steal in someone's house if he knows that the owner of the house knows when he is coming. If the owner of the house knows when he is coming to steal, the owner then can be prepared to defend his home against him.
Since we do not know when our Lord Jesus will come for us, we always need to be ready for his coming. The moment he comes back, we are going to be with Him forever. But for those who are not ready, they will be left behind, and they are going to go through suffering under the judgment of God in this world.
So how can we be ready? We need to continue to pursue to know God by reading, studying, believing, and living out the Word of God in our lives. Coming to Friday night Fellowship and going to church will encourage us to continue to follow God. Let us always be prepared because we do not know when Jesus will return for us. It would be funny if He returns while we are playing soccer, studying at school, or just walking down the street. But the most important thing is that we are ready because we are living for Him daily.
Ask yourself this question: what can you do today or this week to be prepared for the coming of our Lord Jesus?
Write down the problems that you are facing today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, Thank you that you are coming back for me. Thank you that my future is not on this world, but my future is to be with you in heaven. Please help me to be ready. Please help me to come to Fellowship and to church so that I can always be encouraged to follow and obey you. May you help me now with my (mention your prayer requests). In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
