THE REQUIREMENT OF A NEW LIFE IN JESUS

Our salvation is free, but it requires us to surrender our lives to follow God. When our Lord Jesus saved us from our sins through our faith alone in Him, He bought our lives with His own blood to free us from the slavery of sin. Our Lord Jesus made us alive with His own life so that we could live in His freedom. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." God did not save us so that we could continue sinning. He saved us so that we could live according to His righteousness. He wants us to honor Him in everything that we do. The moment we genuinely believe in our Lord Jesus for our salvation, we become a new person. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!"

Let us not be deceived by Satan that we can still live whatever we want, think whatever we want to think, and do whatever we want to do. Once we become a new person in Christ, we begin to live for our Lord Jesus, think the way God thinks according to the Bible, and do whatever pleases our God. There are so many ideas, opinions, and philosophies on how we should view life, but as believers of our Lord Jesus, we view life according to the Word of God. We filter our thoughts and actions through God's Word. We need to allow God to dictate how we should live because He knows what is best for us.

If we believe God is holy and there is no sin in Him, we can trust His ways. If we believe that God loves, cares, and know our future, we can surrender our life to Him. Our Lord Jesus' ways are the only way to live. So whatever we do today, let us honor God.

Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully and meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speaks to you). How should I live now that I am saved? Why do I need to surrender my life to God? What happens to me when I genuinely believe in the Lord Jesus?

Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, now that I am saved through my Lord Jesus, would you please help me to surrender my whole life to you? You bought me with your own precious blood, and I am no longer my own. Please help me trust your ways and let go of trying to control my life with my own desires and wants. Help and teach me to behave and think like you. Please protect my mind and heart from Satan's lies and deceits so I may live in your truth. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
