THE PARABLE OF THE SEED

Another parable that Jesus told his disciples is the parable of the seed, but this time, the seed refers to the kingdom of God. It is about a man who planted seed in the soil and went to bed at night and got up the next day, and the seed sprouted up and grew, but he did not know how. The soil produces crops by itself; first the blade, then the head, then the mature grain in the head. When the crop was ready to be harvested, he prepared his sickle because the harvest had come (Mark 4:26-29). The kingdom of God is the true church of our Lord Jesus Christ, where God reigns in people's hearts. The church is composed of individuals who genuinely believe in Jesus by surrendering their lives to Him. The kingdom of God is not a building but the individual people. So people can profess to be Christians and not part of the kingdom of God because to enter the kingdom of God, they must believe and surrender their lives to Jesus, for Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one can come to the Father except through me" (John 14:6).

When people hear the message of Jesus that He is the Savior and that everyone must believe in Him to be saved, Jesus' message can work in their hearts. It can be slow or quick, but in due time, if they believe in Jesus, they will be saved. They will be like being harvested for the kingdom of God. So we can participate in planting the kingdom of God seed in people's hearts by telling them about Jesus. Every time we tell someone about Jesus, we are planting the Kingdom of God in their hearts, and we pray that it will grow and they will eventually believe and be harvested for the kingdom of God.

We are thankful that we are all part of the kingdom of God. We are already secure in His kingdom no matter what happens in this world. However, many people are not part of God's kingdom yet, so God wants to use our life to tell them about our Lord Jesus Christ so that they may have a chance to enter the kingdom of God before it is too late.

Ask yourself these questions: How did I enter the kingdom of God? How do I plant the kingdom of God in the hearts of people who do not know God personally? How should I live my life now that I am a part of God's kingdom?

Write down all the worries you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for being a part of your kingdom. I am so grateful that I am secure in your kingdom no matter what happens in this world. Please give me the courage and wisdom to tell others about Jesus so that they may enter the kingdom of God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray for those that I love and care for that they would come to believe in Jesus. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
