THE BIBLE IS GOD-BREATHED

What does it mean "All Scripture is God-breathed?" It means that all Scripture or the Bible is inspired by God. Every book, chapter, and verse of the Bible came from God. The Word of God is the spoken truth of God. God gave us His Word to know Him and His ways. God's Word is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training for righteousness so that we can all be thoroughly equipped for every good work. If we want to know how to live a godly life, we need the Word of God to show us. The Word of God explains to us how we can be forgiven of our sins and receive eternal life. The Word of God shows us how to live in this world. We see many controversial social issues in the news and on social media. But as believers, we base our views through the lens of the Word of God because it guides us to the ways of God. We cannot pick and choose what we want to believe in the Bible. We must accept the whole counsel of the Word of God if we want to live by God's truth.

Sometimes, our feelings and understanding do not align with the Word of God. When this happens, we must yield to what the Word of God says. Jesus said in John 8:32, "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." The Word of God is the truth of God because it is inspired by Him. When Satan puts accusations, guilt, and shame in our minds, we must remind ourselves who we are in God through the Word of God. We have the Word of God to protect ourselves from the lies and deceptions of Satan. When we feel insecure, afraid, or worried, we can turn to God's Word and let Him speak His truth in our hearts and minds. If we need directions and help to make decisions, we can go to the Word of God to help us get answers.

The Word of God is what guides us on how we should live. Let us be a doer of God's Word, not just listeners. Let us know God and His ways through His Word so that we can live according to His will.

Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully and meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speaks to you). What does it mean all Scripture is God-breathed? Why do I need to apply the Word of God in my life? Am I willing to apply the Word of God in my life?

Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for giving me Your Word. Please help me understand your Word so I can apply it in my life. I want to live according to your ways, for Your ways are better than mine. Protect my mind from Satan's lies and deceptions. I want to know your truth and live by it. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
