Being thankful is an expression of our appreciation for something that we have received or have done for us. The above verse encourages us to give thanks to our Lord, for He is good and that His faithful love endures forever. God's faithful love is something that we didn't earn, but God lavishly loves us because He chose to love us. God has done so many good things in our lives despite our sins and imperfections. We were destined for hell and helpless to save ourselves from sin, but God sacrificed His only Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross to save us from our sin. We didn't ask God to sacrifice His Son to save us, but God initiatively had done it for us.

There was a dog that had been rescued from an abusive owner. It was malnourished and had the trauma of being physically abused. No one wanted to adopt it because of its condition. However, a family decided to adopt it, not because of its appearance or usefulness, but because they chose to love and accepted it in their family. After a few months, the dog became healthy and turned out to be a beautiful dog. In the same manner, we are like the adopted dog. God chose to love us even when we were unlovable. God's love for us is not based on what we can offer or do for Him, but it is solely based on His unconditional love for us.

We have to be thankful that God chose to love us even when we were lost in our sins. God loves us unconditionally. With this wonderful truth, we need to thank our Lord. Because without His love, we do not have hope. Let us be thankful for what God has done in our lives. Let us express our gratitude through our words and actions. Before we go to bed tonight, let us thank the Lord for loving us and adopting us as His children.

Ask yourself these questions: Am I thankful for what God has done in my life? What are the ways I can express my gratitude to God?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Father in Heaven, thank you so much for everything that you have done in my life. I do not deserve your love, but you chose to love me forever. Please help me to be thankful always. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
