Walking on a path straight means walking in the right direction. And to find the right direction, we need to submit or rely on God and follow His leading. Have you ever wonder how an airplane gets from one place to another? We don’t see any road in the sky. I remember traveling from Los Angeles, CA to Hong Kong. I was on the plane for 16 hours. As I sit by the window, all I could see was thick clouds. So I wonder, how did the pilot know the direction to take if there was no road to follow, and the cloud was so thick that the pilot couldn't see what's ahead of him/her? The answer was that the pilot was constantly checking his instruments, which included the compass. The compass was allowing the pilot to see which direction he/she was heading. The pilot was trained to rely on his/her instruments to fly on the right path.
In the same way, our compass is God. Every time we have a plan to do something or want to go somewhere, the first thing that we need to do is to ask God if our plan or intention is in line with His will. We often make a mistake of going on our own plan right away, without asking God first. As a result, we make mistakes and regret going in the direction that we just went to. If we want to become successful in life, we must continuously acknowledge God by asking Him to guide us. We need God's direction in our lives if we want to walk on the right path. Let us not forget to acknowledge God so that He can make our path straight. And to acknowledge God, we just need to say a simple prayer to surrender our plan to him and ask for His direction.
Ask yourself these questions: Why is it important for me to acknowledge God in all my ways? What did God promise to do if I acknowledge Him in all my ways?
Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, I acknowledge you as my compass in my life. You know the directions that I need to take. I lift up my plans to you, such as (mention your plans). I believe that you can make my path straight if I acknowledge you. Please help me to follow your ways and not my own ways so that I can be successful in life. May you continue to guide my life and help me to always follow your ways. Protect me from any temptations that Satan throws at me so that I will not sin against you. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to spend time with you this morning. I love you. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
