STRONG FOUNDATION

Life is so unpredictable, isn't it? We rejoice today, and the next day we are in sorrow. It seems we can conquer the world today, but the next day, we feel the force of defeat. But, no matter what is going in our lives today, there is one true thing: God is always consistent. He is the Rock that we can stand on. Jesus gave us a story about building our foundation on the rock. A man built his house on the rock, and the rain fell, the flood came, the wind blew and beat on the house, but the house did not fall because it had a strong foundation. However, a foolish man built his house on the sand, and the rain fell, the flood came, and the wind blew and beat against it, and the house fell because it did not have a strong foundation. Jesus said the man who built his house on the rock is the one who hears the Word of God and does them. (Matthew 7:24-27).

It is very important for us as believers to read, study, memorize, and apply the Word of God. The more we know the Word of God, the more our faith in God becomes stronger. There are times we doubt or forget the faithfulness and love of our Heavenly Father towards us when we are facing challenging situations. However, the Word of God would remind us of God's unchanging faithfulness and love towards us. Our feelings or emotions can change, but God is always consistent. Similarly, our circumstances can change, but God is always the same. As we know, believe, and apply the Word of God in our lives, our lives in God will never be shaken. There was a woman who was dying of cancer, but she had full of hope because she knew and believed in the promises of God. And there was a man who lost everything that he had because of a natural disaster, but he never lost hope because he knew and believed the promises of God.

As believers, our firm foundation is in the Word of God. Therefore, God has given us a daily devotion to know the Word of God and strengthened our faith in Him. Therefore, let us continue to learn the Word of God and apply them in our lives that we may stand on a solid foundation.

Ask yourself these questions: How do I have a strong foundation? What must I do after knowing the Word of God? Why is it important to know the Word of God and apply them in my life?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in heaven, thank you for giving me your Word. Please give me the passion for reading, studying, memorizing, and applying your Word in my life that I may stand on a solid foundation. Please help me overcome my laziness and procrastination that I may grow in knowing you through Your Word. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
