People who believe that there is no God are called atheists. These are the people who influence others to believe that everything that exists in this world comes from an evolutionary process and everything happens by chance. There is no God who created everything. They would insist that human beings are meant to live whatever they want to live. Psalm 53:1 describes them as fools because they only rely on their intellects to prove that there is no God. Their God is their intellect. Whatever makes sense to them, that is what they believe. The problem of human intellect is that it is limited. There are things in this world that are beyond our understanding. They use science to prove everything, and when science cannot prove it, they dismiss it because they do not have explanations for it. For example, all the miracles that Jesus has performed in the New Testament, such as raising people from the dead, casting out demons, multiplying fish and loaves, etc., are beyond the understanding of human reasoning, and that is the reason we believe that He is God because only God who created the universe can do those things. Because they refused to believe that there is God and only rely on their intellect, they became fools. The word fools means dumb or no wisdom.
The danger of being atheists is that Satan can easily manipulate their minds and make them believe in corruptible things. Psalm 53:1 says, "Only fools say in their hearts, 'There is no God.' They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good!'" When people refuse to believe in God, they will eventually lose their purpose in life. According to the global study on atheism, atheism has the highest suicide rate compared to those who believe in God. China has the highest suicide rate as a nation because of its atheist stance. Dr. Ming Wang, the author of the book, "From Darkness to Sight." He was an atheist from China who became a believer in Christ because of what he discovered from studying the human eyes. He is a renowned eye surgeon who restored many sights by using biotechnology. When he began to study the structure of the human eye, he was amazed at how it was designed. He ended up believing that there was a God who designed it because chance cannot make such an intricate and complex organ.
The sad part of atheism is that there is no meaning in life. Only God can give us meaning in life because He created us for Himself. Psalm 53:2-3 says, "God looks down from Heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise, if anyone seeks God. But no, all have turned away; all have become corrupt. No one does good, not a single one!" Praise God that He opened our eyes to know the truth that there is God and that our Lord Jesus is the Savior of the world.
Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through carefully, meditate on the questions while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) How can I find the meaning of life? Why do I believe that there is God? What happens to those who do not believe that there is God?
Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Father in Heaven, You are the creator of everything, and you created me for your purpose. Thank you for opening my eyes to know and believe in you. I pray for those who chose not to believe in you that their eyes be opened to see your truth in their hearts and minds so that they will find eternal hope in you. In your name, Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.
