Psalm 66:1-4 says, "Shout joyful praises to God, all the earth! Sing about the glory of his name! Tell the world how glorious He is. Say to God, "How awesome are your deeds! Your enemies cringe before your mighty power. Everything on earth will worship You; they will sing your praises, shouting your name in glorious songs." No matter what people think of God, He is still the same. He is the creator of the universe and everything in it. When we look at what is happening in the world today, it seems evil is winning. We can see wars, violence, corruption, and the things that are wrong in God's sight become right in the eyes of humankind. The suicide rate is high today because many are losing their purpose and meaning in life. However, for those of us who believe in the Lord Jesus, we know the truth through our Bible that God is still in control over every current event that is happening in the world. He gives us eternal hope and the meaning of life. As a result, we can continue to shout praises to God and sing about the glory of his name.
God is our security in life, our provider, and our protector. His grace is sufficient for our weaknesses and sins. He guides us when we rely on Him. Even when we feel that we are at the end of our rope, He is always there for us. Satan and his demons want to destroy us by tempting us to rebel against God, but our God fights for us all the time. No matter how Satan and demons hate God, they are still afraid of God's awesome power. They know that God created them. Satan and the demons were once good angels that God created to serve Him, but they chose to rebel against God because they wanted to be gods themselves. They didn't want to submit to God's authority, so God kicked them out of heaven, and they are now on this earth, ruling in the hearts and minds of those who do not believe in our Lord Jesus. But they do not forget who God is. There will be a time when God will throw them to an eternal lake of fire for their judgment because of their rebellion.
Let us shout praises to our God and sing about the glory of his name. God has provided us with wonderful worship and praise songs. Let us sing them to our Heavenly Father, for He deserves our praise and worship.
Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) Why do I need to shout joyful praises to God and sing about the glory of His name? What are the great things that God has done in my life? How should I respond to His wonderful works in my life?
Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Dear Father in Heaven, I praise you and glorify your name. Thank you for your goodness in my life. Your enemies bow down before you. Satan and the demons are afraid of your mighty power. Please continue to teach me to sing praises to you and acknowledge who you are through worship songs. May you bless this new week, and help me to honor you in everything that I do. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
