SATAN'S AIM IS TO DESTROY US

God created us in His image so we can relate with Him. God created us for a relationship with Him, just like Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve had a perfect relationship with God in the beginning. There was no sin and death, not until Satan came as a snake to destroy Adam and Eve by tempting them to rebel against God. Satan hates God because he wants to be God (Isaiah 14:12-15). Since He couldn't defeat God, his goal was to destroy anything related to God. And since we are created in the image of God, we became the target of his evil intent. Satan's main purpose is to destroy what is good in us. He is the thief who comes only to steal or take away what is good in us. His intent was to kill and destroy us.

In our society today, Satan is using the pleasures of this world to destroy what is good in people. He uses drugs, alcohol, sexual pleasures, pride, hate, materialism, lovers of self, and haters of God to take away the goodness of God in people's lives. However, Jesus came to rescue us and give us abundant life. An abundant life not based on materialism but on His righteousness that brings joy and peace to our hearts. Satan promotes lies and deception to destroy us, but Jesus came to bring truth into our lives through His Word so that we may have life. Satan promotes wickedness, but God promotes righteousness.

As believers, we have to understand that there is no peace in wickedness and sin. Sin destroys what is good in us, no matter how it brings excitement and pleasure to us. When we give in to Satan's temptation, he will destroy us and take away any good things in our lives. So many people have destroyed their lives and blamed God for what happened to them. They didn't realize that Satan destroyed them by using the pleasures of this world. Ever since Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, God has been relentlessly trying to save us by telling us the truth, but people keep ignoring Him because they love the pleasures that Satan puts before them. We can protect ourselves from Satan's deceit by allowing God's truth to speak into our hearts and minds and follow His ways.

Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully and meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speaks to you). Why does Satan, the thief, want to kill and destroy me? What did Jesus bring to this world? How can I protect myself from Satan's lies and deceits?

Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for saving me and giving me life. Please continue to protect me from Satan's lies and deceits. Please help me not to give in to Satan's temptations. Let my mind be filled with your truth that I may continue to walk in your righteousness. Give me the strong desire to read your Word and treasure it in my heart. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
