One of the reasons God saved us from our sin and given us a new self or nature in our Lord Jesus Christ is that He is restoring His image in us. God knows that we have lost or forgotten who we are in Him. In our society today, we are bombardment with information that dictates who we should be as human beings. Through social media and TV entertainment, our minds are being influenced by all kinds of ungodly views, such as homosexuality, abortion, gender, race, etc. As a result, the Word of God (the Bible) is disregarded and ignored because they claimed that it is irrelevant in today's life issues. However, they are struggling to find answers to all the social problems that are happening around us today.

When God made us in His image, He gave us a moral compass in our hearts. We learned what is right and wrong through God's Word and our conscience. Romans 2:15 says, "They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness..." Every time we sin, we feel guilty because of our moral conscience. So if we do not know God or the Word of God, our moral conscience can be influenced by the ungodly ways of this world. And when this happens, we will ignore God's ways in our lives, and we will not walk according to the image that God has created us to be.

As Christians, we need to remind ourselves that we are created in God's image. We live according to the Word of God no matter what other people say about us. We need to embrace what the Word of God says about the social problems we face today and let us stand for what is right before our God. In the end, every single human being on the face of the earth will find out the truth. Philippians 2:10-11 says, "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

Ask yourself these questions: Why is it important for me to know my Bible? How should I live my life as created in God's image?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for helping me to understand that I am created in your image. Please help me to live my life according to your Word. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
