PRAY FOR OUR NATION

The United States of America (USA) was founded on strong Christian values. The founding fathers of this country believed in God, the creator of all things. They believed that humans were sinful. They believed that God ordained moral standards. They believe that humans were created in the image of God. They believe that religious liberty should be extensively protected. As a result of their faith in God, God blessed this country. However, Satan tried to destroy this country's Christian heritage by introducing evolutions in schools to take God out of this country. Even today, the liberals, who do not believe in God, try to take away "In God We Trust" from our one-dollar bill. They try to stop prayers in schools and reciting the pledge of allegiance that includes "one nation under God."

If the liberals or the politicians, who do not believe in God, successfully take God out in this country, this country's moral values will go down the drain, and we will all experience religious persecution. When the nation of Israel chose to reject God, God sent prophets to encourage them to return to God and repent from their sins. However, they did not listen. Consequently, it was not long after that they were conquered by foreign nations and lost their land. Their land was conquered by Babylonian, Medo-Persian, Greek, and the Roman empire. Not until 1948 that they became a nation again and received back their land.

Today is election day, and I want to encourage all of us to pray for our nation. God has given us the privilege to be in a country that believes in freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and freedom of opportunity and equality. Let us pray that God will provide us leaders who believe in God and protect the sanctity of life. Let us pray for a peaceful election and that the Christian values of this country will be protected. God said this to Solomon after he prayed and dedicated the temple to God, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14). Although this verse refers to the nation of Israel, we can do the same thing by seeking God on behalf of our nation.

Ask yourself these questions: Why is it important for me to pray for this nation? What is Satan trying to do in this country? What can I pray about on this election day?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for the United States of America. Thank you for allowing me to live in a country that is founded on Christian values. Please continue to bless this nation and preserve your truth in this country. May we have a peaceful election day today and provide us leaders who believe in your principles and protect the unborn children's lives. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
