PRAISE AND WORSHIP

One of the greatest gifts that God has given us is music. Music allows us to express our emotions. The Bible is filled with Psalms, songs written by people who believed in God, such as Moses and David. David had written a lot of Psalms that expressed his victories and struggles in life. When he defeated his enemies, David wrote Psalms of Thanksgiving to God. When he was in need, he wrote Psalms of supplications. When he was in sin, he wrote Psalms of repentance. When he was afraid, he wrote Psalms of confidence in God. David used music to express his emotions to God, and it became to him like prayers.

Today, we sing a lot in church and our Bible Fellowship to prepare our hearts before God. Praise and worship songs help us to refocus our attention on God because it reminds us of God’s love and faithfulness in our lives. Many great praises and worship songs are written when the composers are going through difficult times in their lives. They are able to express their struggles and faith in the Lord in the songs that they are writing; thus, it encourages them to persevere in their walk with the Lord. In the same manner, they are also encouraging others.

God wants us to use music to express our hearts to Him. When we sing to the Lord, God is pleased, and he uses the songs that we are singing to encourage us. So when we are going through a difficult time, let us listen to Christian music that lifts our spirit to God.

Ask yourself these questions: Do I listen to Christian music when I am going through a difficult time? Do I sing to the Lord to express my adoration, faith, and love to Him?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in heaven, thank you for the songs that you have provided for me to encourage me in my walk with you. Please help me to continue to praise and worship you through songs. May you help me to sing songs to you and filled my mind with songs that praise you. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
