NEW YEAR: PRAISE THE LORD

God has blessed us with another New Year! No matter what we face in this New Year, let us face it with confidence and full of great anticipation because there is one thing for certain: our Heavenly Father is still in control; therefore, we have hope. Psalm 104:19-26 says, "You made the moon to mark the seasons, and the sun knows when to set. You send the darkness, and it becomes night when all the forest animals prowl about. Then the young lions roar for their prey, stalking the food provided by God. At dawn, they slink back into their dens to rest. Then people go off to their work, where they labor until evening. O Lord, what a variety of things you have made! In wisdom, you have made them all. The earth is full of your creatures. Here is the ocean, vast and wide, teeming with life of every kind, both large and small. See the ships sailing along and the Leviathan (big sea creatures), which you made to play in the sea.

Our Heavenly Father, who created and sustained everything, will take care of us, His children. We are all God's children through our genuine faith in our Lord Jesus (John 1:12). Let us not be worried or dread this new year. But let us praise the Lord with our souls. Here's what David says in Psalm 103:1-5, "Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle's!"

Let us face this new year with praise towards our God, for He is our God, who created and sustained everything. Let us not get tired or discouraged, but by prayer coming from our hearts, let us make our request known to God, and the peace of God shall guard our hearts and minds in our Lord Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). Let us not lose our faith but ask God to revive our faith and continue to strengthen us.

Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through carefully, meditate on the questions while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you) What should my attitude be in this New Year? Do I believe that God will take care of me this New Year? What should I do if I am doubting and worried?

Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, I praise you in this New Year! No matter what happens this New Year, You are in absolute control. Please help me rest in your promise that you will take care of all my concerns. Please revive my faith and continue to strengthen me, for you are my only hope. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
