LOVING GOD

Updated: Mar 12, 2020

The moment we become born again by genuinely believing in the Lord Jesus as our Lord and Savior, God immediately is teaching us to love Him with all our heart, all our soul, and all our strength. He started giving us the desire to know Him by studying the Bible and teaching us to pray. God began to show us His righteous ways so that we can walk on them.

Umberto was six years old when his parents resettled in Northern California. Both of his parents were strong believers in the Lord and spoke little English. As Umberto was growing up, he learned about God and the Bible through his parents. When he was in Elementary to the Middle school, his parents always reminded him to follow God's way and trust in Him; however, when he was at school, he hanged out with ungodly friends because he could relate with them. After all, they could speak his language, and they came from the same country. Pretty soon, Umberto's desire to know God became less. He started doing what his friends were doing: skipping class and not doing his homework. When he was at home, he wasn't helping his parents. Both of his parents were heartbroken and concerned about Umberto because they loved him, and they wanted the best for Him. Both his parents worked very hard to give him a future so that he would not suffer the way they suffered.

Just as Umberto's parents were grieved when Umberto started to stray from the Lord, God is also grieved when we are not walking in His ways. God wants the best for us because He loves us. When we love God with all our hearts, soul, and strength, we will then live and walk in His will that leads to abundant life.

Ask yourself these questions: Do you love God with all your heart, soul, and strength? If yes, why? If not, why not? What is stopping you from loving God with all your heart, soul, and strength?

Write down the problems that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for loving me. Thank you that you want what is best for me. Please help me to love you with all my heart, soul, and mind. I want to live a blessed life and the only way to have a blessed life is to walk in your will, so please help me to walk in your will and do the right thing. May you help me now with my (mention your prayer requests). In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
