LIVING IN CONFIDENCE IN GOD

As believers of our Lord Jesus Christ, we should be the most confident people in the world because we have God in our lives. We feel intimidated or lack confidence in life because we rely on ourselves instead of entirely relying on God. If we genuinely believe that God is sovereign and that God will never leave us nor abandon as His children, we should not be fearful, but instead, we should be courageous. When we face challenging situations, we should not focus our attention on our own abilities, but instead, we seek God first. The Bible says that God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity but of power, love, and self-discipline.

The power mentioned in the verse does not refer to our own strength, but the power that comes from God that works in and through our lives. God says that if we lack wisdom, we can ask Him for wisdom. If we lack strength, we can ask Him for strength. If we need direction, we can ask Him for guidance. If we lack something, we can ask Him for provision. We are not meant to carry our own burden, but we need to give our burden to God and let Him take care of us. The more we rely on ourselves, the more we will become fearful and intimidated. However, the more we rely on God, the more we become confident.

When relying on God, it does not mean that we become idle or not doing anything. God wants us to be proactive and walk in love and self-discipline. God wants us to do our part, and He will do the rest. For example, if we're going to pass our classes or get good grades, we need to study hard, do our homework well, and ask God for wisdom and understanding. Laziness and trusting in God do not go together. God hates laziness, and He does not want us, His children, to be lazy, but be productive because He has a great plan in our lives. God loves us so much that He is giving us fantastic opportunities, but if we are not going to take advantage of it by relying on Him and doing our part, we will never be able to live according to His standard of living, and we will always be fearful and intimidated.

Ask yourself these questions: Am I walking in fear? What should I do when I am fearful and lack of confidence? What does God want me to do when facing a difficult situation?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for giving me power, love, and self-discipline, and not a spirit of fear and timidity. Please help me to rely on you completely and not to rely on myself. Please help me not to be lazy, but be proactive. Thank you for teaching me how I should live my life. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
