JONAH DISOBEYED

God wants everyone to enter His presence, but because of His holiness and righteousness, He cannot allow sin in His presence. As a result, He provided a way for everyone to enter His presence through our Lord Jesus. Our Lord Jesus is the only one who can take care of our sins because He paid the penalty for our sins with His own blood on the cross. Since He died for our sins, everyone must believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Anyone who rejects to believe in Jesus will not be forgiven because it is only through faith in Him that a person must be saved. Our good works are not enough for us to be accepted by our Heavenly Father because our good works cannot take away the penalty of our sins. Someone has to die for our sins because the penalty for our sins is death.

Other religions, such as Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and other Eastern religions, do not have a solution for sins. It is a lie to say that all religions are the same, and it can lead people to God. All religions are not the same because they have different ways of worshiping God. Other religions rely on their good works. As a result, they never have the assurance of being accepted by God because they do not know if they are good enough. It is only Jesus who died for our sins, and it is through faith in Him that we are saved. God wants us to share our faith with others because He wants people to be saved through our sharing. He wants to use us as His messenger. God called Jonah to go to Nineveh to tell them of God's judgment because of their sins. However, Jonah didn't want to go. Instead, he went in the other direction to escape God's direction.

Let us be willing to share our faith with others. We do not need to teach or preach, but it is easy as saying to others God loves them, or you can tell them that you are praying for them. Let us mention God in our conversation, and if there is an opportunity, we can share our faith in Jesus. Remember that we cannot save anyone, but we can share our faith to point them to Jesus.

Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through carefully and meditate on the questions while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you) Does God want anyone to go to hell? What is the solution that God provides to save everyone? What must a person do to be saved?

Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for helping me understand that Jesus is the only Savior because He is the only one who died for the sins of the world. Please give me the courage and wisdom to live out my faith in my workplace, school, at home, and wherever I am, so people may know that I belong to you. In your name Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.
