JESUS CAME TO SAVE US FROM GOING TO HELL

When we talk about hell, we hear this question: "Why would a good and loving God send someone to hell?" Many people believe, especially those who do not know God through the Bible, that if God is love, He will be loving and not send someone to eternal condemnation. However, the Bible speaks of judgment because of the consequences of sin. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." The Bible clearly states that the consequence of sin is death. The death that is talking about in this verse is eternal separation from God in hell. But God made a way to save people from the consequences of sin. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life."

Jesus came to save us from our sin. He came to bear the consequences of our sin by dying on the cross. Jesus sacrificed Himself for us because He does not want us to go to hell. Anyone who will believe in Him will be saved from eternal death. To answer the above question, God does not want anyone to go to hell, and He proved it by sending Jesus to die on the cross on our behalf. However, everyone must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior to be saved from going to hell because He took the consequences of our sin upon Himself. John 3:18 says, "There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God's one and only Son."

We need to be thankful that God provided us with a Savior who took the punishment for our sins. We are saved from God's judgment when we genuinely believe in the Lord Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We have been forgiven, received eternal life, and saved from going to hell.

Ask yourself these questions: Does God want anyone to go to hell? How did God provide a way for us not to go to hell? Have I genuinely believed in the Lord Jesus Christ?

Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for saving me from the consequences of my sin. Thank you, Jesus, for dying for my sin so that I can be forgiven and have eternal life. Please help me always be thankful for my salvation and help me tell others about the salvation that is available from You. In your name Jesus, I pray. Amen.
