Jeremiah 29:12 (Daily Devotion)

Have you ever felt unsure about what you want to do and are afraid to move forward because you are worried that you don't have what it takes to succeed? If you are feeling this way, you are not alone. King David of Israel also experienced the same thing. When he was hiding from Saul, he ended up in the land of the Philistines. While he was living there with his soldiers and their families, one of their enemies in that land attacked their camp and took all their families. David was broken and afraid. Even his soldiers were blaming him and planning to stone him (1 Samuel 30). He didn't know what to do, except to cry out to God. As he was seeking God for guidance and direction on what to do, God told David to pursue his enemies, and so he did. David and his men eventually caught up with their enemies and saved their families.

Just as David cried out to God for guidance and direction, we must do the same. David knew that God had the answer to life. He believed in his heart that God was there to protect him and lead him in the right way. When we are unsure about what to do and are afraid to move forward, we need to remember that God is always there for us. We need to trust and obey God. If David did not listen to God and allowed his fear to dictate his life, he would not have rescued his family.

Pray to God to help you with all your concerns today. Take a moment to pray.
