It seems that one of the things that everybody wants is to live forever young. Can you imagine living in a place where you can never get old, and age doesn't matter anymore? Death doesn't exist anymore? Well, the good news is that God promised eternal life to those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. We will live eternally not in this world but in God's very presence in Heaven. We will never experience death again because sin will not exist in Heaven. Our earthly bodies will be changed with glorified bodies that are no longer susceptible to sin. The more we experience suffering in this world, the more we long for a place of peace and rest. We wish that there is no longer violence in the street and it is safe not to lock our doors at night. We wish that there are no longer terminal sicknesses, war, and oppression.
All these things that we are hoping will someday become a reality for us. When it is time for God to take us home to be with Him, we will experience complete peace and rest, and it will not be temporary, but it will be eternal. We have eternal life because we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ brought forgiveness in our lives. We may fall, suffer, and fail, but our Heavenly Father holds us securely because we are His children through our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
So, let us not doubt our eternal life. We need to live in confidence because we have eternal hope. We are eternally secure in Christ Jesus. This world is no longer our home, but our home is in heaven, so death on this world is the beginning of our eternal life in Him. All our sufferings in this world are only temporary, so let us live in the peace of God.
Ask yourself these questions: Do I believe that I have eternal life? How did I receive eternal life? How should I live my life knowing that I have eternal life through my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ?
Write down all the worries you are facing today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, thank you for the eternal life. It is very encouraging that the sufferings that I am going through are all temporary. There is an eternal life awaiting me, and I am looking forward to living in your presence that there will never be sin and death. In the meantime, please help me to walk in faith and live my life for your honor and glory. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
