I AM HOLY AND WITHOUT BLAME

It is incredible to think that God had chosen each one of us before He created the world to be holy and blameless in His presence. How could this be? The only way that this could happen is that He knew us before we were all created, even before Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. He knew that someday we would all become sinners. And being a sinner is the opposite of being holy. As a result, He has to do something about our sin and make us holy and blameless. God knew that our good works or being good is not good enough to make us holy and blameless because we do bad things more than good things through our thoughts, motives, and deeds. So God sent Jesus to come to this world to rescue us from our sin by dying on the cross. Jesus shed His blood on the cross to wash away our sins.

Then after He washed away our sins and forgave us, He put His righteousness in us. Philippians 3:9 says, "and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith." It is through our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ alone that we become holy and blameless. When we stand before our Heavenly Father, we are righteous and blameless because our Heavenly Father will see the righteousness of Jesus in us. Our holiness and blamelessness before our God are part of our new creation in our Lord Jesus Christ.

We know that we have done many bad things in the past, and sometimes we wonder if God would ever forgive us. We are constantly dealing with our weaknesses, and sometimes we feel like giving up because we feel like we will never measure up to be good. God knows all of our struggles, and God is encouraging us this morning that we are all forgiven of our sins when we confess our sins to Him and ask for forgiveness. We have our Lord Jesus' righteousness now, and God is changing our hearts day by day through the power of the Holy Spirit that is working in us. While God is changing us through the power of the Holy Spirit, we have His righteousness in us and we are blameless before Him.

Ask yourself these questions: When did God choose me to become holy and blameless? How did I become holy and blameless? Do I believe and embrace that I am forgiven for all the past sins that I have committed?

Write down all the worries you face Today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for choosing me to be holy and blameless even before I ever existed. It is incredible for me to think that you knew me as a person before you created the heavens and the earth. I am righteous not because of what I have done or could do but because of what you have done on the cross. Thank you, Jesus, for putting your righteousness in me and changing me day by day through the power of the Holy Spirit to become the person that my Heavenly Father wants me to be. In your name Jesus, I pray. Amen.
