Every day we face different kinds of influence in this world. Social media, entertainment, and our challenges affect how we view life. But the most damaging influence of this world is to doubt our acceptance of God. When we feel that God rejected us because of our circumstances, we need to remind ourselves that our Heavenly Father has adopted us as His children. We may feel that God doesn't care about us because we have been praying for something and waiting for a long time. But our Heavenly Father is always at work behind the scene on our behalf. We are living in a world of instant gratification. If we want something, we can have it now. For example, if we are hungry, we can immediately get our food from fast-food restaurants. We can get an instant meal at the grocery stores and put it in the microwave for a quick meal. When we feel physically uncomfortable, we can easily manipulate our surroundings to make us comfortable.
However, when we face situations beyond our control, we worry and doubt ourselves and even doubt our God's acceptance. God may allow us to go through situations beyond our control to teach and mature our character, but God will never allow suffering to destroy and make us suffer for no good reason. As His precious children, his goal in our life is to make us grow and mature for godliness. Whether we are single or married, young or old, we all face different challenges and problems in life, but we all have the same solution to our problems, and that is our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
So as a child of God, we need to remind ourselves that we have been accepted in Jesus Christ as God's adopted children and are loved forever by our Heavenly Father. Let us not think and behave like the influence of this world, but rather, we need to think as children of God who have been accepted to an eternal relationship with our Heavenly Father. Let us rest in God's love in our suffering, and in due time, God will work everything out. Remember, our God is the God of impossibilities.
Ask yourself these questions: How should I think and behave as a person since God has accepted me as His adopted child? Do I believe that God is at work in my situations? Am I willing to continue to walk in faith and wait, knowing that God is at work in my situations?
Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, thank you for reminding me today that you have accepted me as your adopted child in my Lord Jesus. Please help me think and behave like your child, and not think from the influence of this world. Please help me walk in faith in my sufferings and the challenges I face every day. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
