When we became a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ, God began a good work in us. Philippians 1:6 says, "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." God starts to change our hearts through the working of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. However, it does not mean that we will no longer struggle with sin. As long as we are still living in this world, we are still being affected by sin, but as new person in Christ, we have the power to say no to sin. We are no longer under the power of darkness but of the light. John 8:12, "Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'"

There are times that we forget that we are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. We are no longer the person that we were once before. We didn't have hope before, but now we have so much hope in Christ. We weren't forgiven before, but now we are forgiven. We were lost in our sin, but now we are living in the righteousness of Christ. Satan will try to distort our view of ourselves to confuse our identity in our Lord Jesus. He will tempt us to sin and lead us to stray away from God, but it will never change who we are in Christ Jesus. And this is the reason we need to declare to ourselves that we are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. We have been born again by our faith in our Lord Jesus.

Satan put lies in our minds that make us think that we are still the same as we were before. But we need to reject those lies in our minds by declaring the truth in ourselves. We can say to ourselves, "I am now a new creation in Christ! I now have a new life in Christ, and this is who I am. I am now a child of God." Let us not forget who we are in Christ that we may live in the freedom we have in Him.

Ask yourself these questions: What happens to me when I genuinely believe in Jesus as my Lord and Savior? What does it mean to be a new creation in Christ Jesus? How do I reject the lies that Satan puts in my mind?

Write down all the worries you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Father in Heaven, thank you for making me a new person when I believed in Jesus as my Lord and Savior. Please help me never forget that I am a new person in you. I am no longer under the power of sin, and I can now say no to sin. I am now free to live for you. Thank you for this new life that I have in you. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
