GOOD SOIL

When the first time we believed in the Lord Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we became God's children. We were like an infant that needed help to know God. We didn't know a lot of the Bible, but God had taught us many things about Himself through Bible studies. We were water baptized and were excited to study and pray, but as we continued in our walk with God, we started to get distracted and eventually lost our desire to know more about Him.

This is precisely what Jesus is talking about the seed that fell among the thorns. When we heard the gospel message for the first time, we were all excited, but then we were distracted by life's worries, riches, and pleasures. We started to set aside our time with the Lord for the sake of relationships, school, and sports. We have forgotten that God is the one that sustains and provides everything that we need. We start to take for granted His love in our lives. We started believing that we can do whatever we want and still follow God. However, in reality, we are growing farther and farther from God.

We need to be the seed that fell on the good soil that produces crops or fruits. How can we become the seed that fell on the good soil? We need to persevere or not give up in following our Lord Jesus regardless of our circumstances or situations. We need to be disciplined in spending time with the Lord daily. We need to do our daily devotion and pray to our Lord. Always find time in a day to spend time with our Lord. As we continue to spend time with Him daily, we will continue to grow in our relationship with our Lord, and He will then bless our lives and lead us to the right path. Going to church once a week is not enough, and knowing God without living out what we know is not good. We need to do what God is leading us to do.

Write down the problems that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for today. Please help me to be like the seed that fell on the good soil. Please help me to continue to grow in my walk with you. Please forgive me for not spending time with you. Please help me to follow your will in my life and make time to spend time with you. I believe that you are the one that is taking care of me. Please help me with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
