GOD'S LOVE AND RIGHTEOUSNESS

After David described sin and wickedness in Psalm 36, he continued to describe God's love and faithfulness. He wrote, "Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O Lord. How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings. You feed them from the abundance of your own house, letting them drink from your river of delights. For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see (Psalm 36:5-9)." We can see God's love and goodness every day if we become aware of His daily provisions. God provides us with the sun to give us the light and heat that we need. He produces oxygen so that we can breathe and live. He gives us fresh water to drink and sustain all living things. Since God is righteous, we can trust His decision-making. God only does what is good, and there is no evil and wickedness in Him.

There is a wrong understanding of God that God is the source of pain and suffering. As a result, many do not believe in God or hate Him because they blame Him for their pain and suffering. The truth is that pain and suffering are the result of sin and disobedience against God. There was no pain and suffering in the beginning until human beings sinned in the Garden of Eden. God warned Adam that the moment he ate the fruit of the good and evil tree, he would surely die, and he did eat the forbidden fruit. The reason Jesus was born, died on the cross, rose from the dead on the third day, and ascended back to Heaven was to save us from our sins and give us eternal life that will no longer be susceptible to pain and suffering.

God loves and cares about us no matter what is going on in our lives today. The suffering and pain that we are going through do not change God's love, faithfulness, and righteousness towards us. Let us never give up, for God does not give up on us. Let us keep on trusting and doing what is right because, in due time, God will end all our suffering. Our pain and suffering are only temporary, but God's love, faithfulness, and righteousness are eternal.

Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through carefully and meditate on the questions while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you). How does God show His love and faithfulness in my life? What is the source of pain and suffering? Why did Jesus die on the cross?

Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for your lovingkindness towards me. Thank you for all your provisions for my daily needs. Thank you for saving me from my sins and giving me a new life in you. Please deliver me from my pain and suffering and help to persevere in my faith in you. Please give me strength, peace, and joy as I face my daily challenges. In your name, Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.
