GOD IS THE CARETAKER OF OUR SOULS

God knows everything we are going through and understands the struggles in our hearts. Our fears and worries are not hidden from Him. Romans 8:27 says, "And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will." Most Bible translations translate Romans 8:27 to mean that our Heavenly Father searches our hearts. The word "search" suggests that God investigates our hearts to find their true condition. God does not guess how we feel, but He knows the reasons why we worry and are fearful. There are times we do not understand the root causes of our fears and worries, but God knows. And fear and worries can go on and on in our hearts. However, the Holy Spirit who lives in us knows exactly what is troubling us; as a result, the Holy Spirit helps us to pray. Romans 8:26 says, "And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don't know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words." 

When we are afraid or worried about something, we need to remind ourselves that God knows what is going on in our hearts and that we are not alone. Since God knows what is happening in our hearts and knows the source of our fears and worries, let us completely trust in Him. We need to remind ourselves that the Holy Spirit is also praying on our behalf before our Heavenly Father. Our Heavenly Father is the answer to our fears and worries. Every time I am fearful and worried about something, I immediately pray, put my trust in our Heavenly Father, and rest my heart in Him because I know He loves me and takes care of me. As a result, my fears and worries change to calmness and peace. I am still in the same situation, but I now have peace because I am trusting God with all of my heart. 

Our Heavenly Father is the caretaker of our souls. He is always searching our hearts. So, if we are overwhelmed with fears and worries today, let us remind ourselves that God knows exactly the source of our fears and worries and that we can completely trust in Him to take care of every concern that we have.

Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) What does it mean when God searches my heart? What should I do when I am overwhelmed with fear and worry? Do I completely trust God with all my concerns? 

Take a moment to write down all your worries today. Then, lift them to God in prayer, surrendering them to His will and trusting in His guidance.

Prayer:

Dear Father in Heaven, you search my heart because you love and care about me. You know everything that is going on in my heart; there is nothing hidden from you. Please help me trust you completely and believe with all of my heart that you take care of all my concerns. May your peace overwhelm my heart and mind today. In your name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
