GOD'S TRUTH VERSUS SATAN'S LIES

Since the beginning of time, Satan has been trying to destroy humanity through His lies. He successfully tempted Adam and Eve to rebel against God through his lies. Even today, he continues to spread the false belief that there is no God who created the universe in our society through public schools, universities, and institutions. No matter how brilliant a person is, he or she is susceptible to Satan's lies. Stephen Hawking, a well-known cosmologist, theoretical astrophysicist, and author, wrote, "I believe the simplest explanation is that there is no God. No one created the universe, and no one directs our fate. This leads me to a profound realization that there probably is no heaven and no afterlife either. We have this one life to appreciate the grand design of the universe and for that, I am extremely grateful" (Brief Answers to the Big Questions, 2018). Prominent professors in prestigious universities, such as Harvard University, teaches his views, and many college students with brilliant minds accept Hawking's views. Many students come from Christian families and attend church regularly, but when they go to colleges and universities, they lose their faith in God. One of the biggest reasons is due to the atheist views being heard and taught in classrooms.

We believe that God created the universe because it is impossible for a sudden explosion or expansion of the universe to create a world in which we are living. Science does not prove that there is no God, but Science proves that there is God. Dr. Richard Smalley, a Nobel Prize-winning chemist, said, "The more I study the science of the universe, the more I believe in God" (Hope College 2005 Alumni Banquet, 2005). Since God is the creator of the universe and everything in it, including the Earth, God can explain His creation through His Word, the Bible. We have hope and meaning of life because God created everything. Revelation 4:11 says, "You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased." When we look at the skies, stars, the moon, and the sun, we see God's awesome power of creation. Psalm 19:1 says, "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork."

We are blessed that we know the truth of God's creation. God created the universe for us because He loves us and has a wonderful purpose in our lives. Satan tries to destroy God's purpose in our lives through His lies, but praise God that He opened our eyes to His truth through His Word. 

Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) How does Satan destroy people? Why is it important for us to know and believe that God created the universe? How can I protect myself from Satan's lies?

Take a moment to write down all your worries today. Then, lift them up to God in prayer, surrendering them to His will and trusting in His guidance.

Dear Father in Heaven, I praise you for your Word. Your Word opened my eyes to the truth of your creation. You created the universe because you have a wonderful plan and purpose. Please continue to protect my mind and heart from Satan's lies. In your name, Jesus, I pray, Amen.
