Freedom is something that all of us experience living in America. We have the freedom of religion—we can read the word of God, we can pray, we can worship God in our churches, and share our faith with others who do not know the Lord. We have the freedom of speech—we can express our thoughts and ideas, even disagreeing with those in governmental positions, including the president. We have the freedom of opportunity and equality, which many countries in the world do not have. Every year, thousands of people want to come to America because they believe that this country is a land of opportunity. We have the freedom to vote for the elected officials, including the position of the president.
Every American citizen will have the opportunity to exercise their freedom to vote for the president they want for tomorrow's presidential election. We thank our Lord for giving us the freedom to choose who we want to vote for. In a spiritual sense, we have the freedom to choose Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We have the freedom to choose to surrender our lives to Him. Let us not take for granted the spiritual freedom that God has given. He is not forcing anyone to believe in Him, but He allows everyone to use their freedom of choice to choose to believe in Him. Freedom is not something that is forced, but it is something that is allowed to choose.
So in this presidential election, let us use our freedom to vote. Let us express our right to choose the person we want to be the president of the United States. In the same manner, let us use our freedom of choice to choose Jesus to be the Lord and Savior of our lives. God has given us a wonderful privilege to believe in Him. Because when we choose to believe in Him, we can have a new life free from the control of sin and judgment of God. We will receive the forgiveness of our sin and eternal life.
Ask yourself these questions: Am I thankful to live in a country that exercises freedom of choice? What does God want me to do with the freedom that I have? What happens when I choose to believe in Jesus?
Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, thank you for the freedom that you have given me. Thank you for allowing me to live in America, where I can live in a free society. Please help me to use my freedom for your glory and honor. Please help me to choose your ways. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
