FINDING LIFE

When Jesus started His ministry on this earth, and before He died on the cross, many people were following Him because of the miracles that He had performed. Many people followed Him because He could provide food and healing for them. At one point, they tried to force Him to become their king because, in their mind, if Jesus became their king, He would provide everything that they needed and delivered them from Roman's rules. They wanted to use Jesus to save their lives, but not willing to give up their lives for Jesus. Similarly, there are many people today that follow Jesus because of what they can get from Him but not willing to give up their lives for Jesus.

There was a man who went to church every Sunday and gave tithe and offering to God. However, his motive for going to church every Sunday and giving money to the church was for God to continue to bless his life. One day, the company that he was working for got in financial trouble and laid him off. All of a sudden, he found himself with no job. He started blaming God for his situation because he thought that God would bless him because of all the good things that he had done. As a result, he stopped going to church. One day, one of his friends shared the gospel with him and realized that a genuine relationship with God was to completely surrender himself to God and let God control his life. For a long time, he was using God for his own gain, but since he learned the truth, he surrendered his entire life to God and was willing to give up his life for Jesus.

Jesus said that if we give up our lives for Him, we will find life. Jesus wants us to completely surrender our lives to Him and let Him control our lives. True Christianity is about giving our lives for the sake of our Lord Jesus. When we completely surrender our lives to Jesus, we will then find life. God will become our Lord and Savior. God has given us a wonderful promise that He will never leave nor forsake us. God takes care of us because He loves and cares about us; we only need to trust and obey Him.

Ask yourself these questions: What is true Christianity? Am I willing to surrender my life to God? if not, what is stopping me from giving my life to Jesus?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for being my God and Savior. You are the only one who can give me life. Please forgive me if I have been using you to get what I want and not willing to surrender my life to you. Please change my life. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
