FAITHFUL PROMISES

The Bible often uses practical illustrations to explain God or His mighty work. In Psalm 91:4, the Bible uses a bird protecting her chicks with her wings. When a chicken feels threatened with her chicks, she gathers all her chicks with her wings and protects them. In the same manner, God also protects His children, not with feathers, but his faithful promises.

Interestingly, God does not use objects to protects us, but He uses His faithful promises to protect us. The reason is that objects, such as metals or stones, rust or crumble over time. However, His promises are forever guaranteed because He is a faithful God. God will do what he promises to do, and nothing can stop Him.

Since God is our shelter and protector, we should not worry about anything that can harm us. When a virus, like Coronavirus, is sweeping the world, we need to rely on our God for protection. Always remember that nothing will happen to us without God's permission. However, God does not encourage us not to take care of ourselves. He wants us to trust Him for our protection, but at the same time, we also need to take care of ourselves.

I know that being quarantine and staying at home all day and all week can be boring and annoying, but we need to persevere. All these things will eventually pass, and God will be faithful in taking care of our needs. So the next time you see a bird, like a chicken or a goose, protecting her chicks with her feathered wings, remember that God is protecting us with His faithful promises.

Ask yourself these questions: How do you feel knowing that God's promises towards you are faithful? What are you doing at this time in protecting yourself and your family from the Coronavirus?

Write down the problems that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for your faithful promises. Help me not to worry, but to trust in you. I pray that you will get rid of the Coronavirus, and that everything will be back in normal again. I pray that you will continue to protect me and my family from the virus, and heal those who have been infected by the virus already. Please help our president and our government in helping our nation in going through this difficult time. May you help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In Jesus name, I pray. Amen
