FAITH WITHOUT DOUBTING

The Bible says that when we lack wisdom, we can ask God for wisdom, and He will give us wisdom generously without judging us. However, we need to ask God with faith. A faith without doubting. There are times that we believe that God is the creator of the universe and everything in it, and we believe that He exists and died for our sin, but we fail to trust Him when we need something, such as wisdom. When we ask God for something, we must believe that He will answer our prayers, whether He will answer our prayers with yes, no, or wait. No matter How our God answers our prayer, we must accept with confidence that God is in control of our life. Because when we doubt, the Bible says that we are like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. It means that we are unstable and easily misled by our wrong assumptions and feelings and not based on the truth of God. As a result, we become like a person who is double-minded and unstable in all he does.

Being a double-minded person is not only an unstable person but also the Bible says that God will not answer him. God wants us to be faithful in trusting in Him and not doubt. We cannot live in both trusting and doubting at the same time. Hebrews 11:6 says, "Now without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him." So what do we do when we are doubting? We need to ask Jesus to help us to believe in our God the Father because He is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). We need to be like the father who asked Jesus to heal his child. Mark 9:23-24 says, "Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes." Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief (doubting)!"

As believers, we need to trust God that He will provide everything that we need and that He always answers our prayer, whether that would be yes, no, or wait. But regardless of how He answers our prayers, we must trust that God is in control of our life and that we need to surrender our life to Him completely.

Ask yourself these questions: Am I having difficulty trusting in God in my current situation? What should I do when I am doubting? How does God want me to believe in Him?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you that you are faithful to answer my prayers and that you want me to trust in you completely. Please help me not to be a double-minded person. Lord Jesus, please help my doubting. Please help me to trust and surrender everything to you. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
