Going through a difficult situation is not easy to have joy. However, God wants us to consider our difficult circumstances not as a punishment from the Lord but as an opportunity for us to grow and get closer to our Lord. Our difficult circumstances can be a blessing in disguise. Our faith or trust in God is tested when God allows us to go through difficult situations. It reveals our true hearts and character. It shows how much we know and trust God. But the testing of our faith is not about passing or failing. It is about growing in our faith in Him. The more we exercise our faith in difficult circumstances, the stronger our faith becomes. We learn to persevere through our faith in our difficult circumstances. We can read and know about faith and trust in our Lord Jesus Christ, but only through applying it to our difficult circumstances can we learn what it means to have faith and trust in God.
After our Lord Jesus died on the cross and ascended to Heaven after his resurrection, the disciples did not lose hope because they had experienced God in difficult circumstances. Through my needs in the past, I learn that God is my provider, and I can trust Him. I will not know how to trust God if I have not experienced being in need. Since God is bigger than my difficult situations, I can trust Him. As I trust Him, I will see His hand working through my difficult situations. And this is why we consider rejoicing when we face difficult situations because we can trust God and see Him work through our lives.
Let us consider having pure joy when we face challenges in our lives. Let us trust our Lord Jesus, who takes care of us. Let us rest in Him. Our difficult circumstances will all work out in the end because God will take care of them because we trust Him.
Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully and meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speaks to you). Why does God allow me to go through difficult circumstances? Why do I need to consider having pure joy when I go through difficult circumstances? Do I believe that God will take care of me as I trust Him?
Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, please help me rejoice in you while I go through difficult circumstances. I understand that difficult circumstances test my faith, reveal my true character and heart before you, and produce perseverance in me. You are making me a stronger and godly person as I trust in you. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
