When Jesus started His ministry at the age of 30 years old, He began to perform miracles to show the people that He was the Lord and Savior who would save people from their sins. He taught and corrected the people how to worship God; however, he was persecuted because of the godly things that he had done. When Jesus went to the temple, He saw the religious leaders made God's temple a marketplace instead of a place of prayer. He saw them selling animals for their sacrifices and exchange money for buying things in the temple (the temple money was different than the regular money at that time). People persecuted Jesus because of righteousness' sake (Matthew 21:12-17).
In today's society, it is sad to see that lies are being accepted as truth. And the truth is being accepted as false. Whatever pleases self is good regardless of what God says in His Word. The Bible explicitly says that homosexuality was a sin (1 Corinthians 6:9-10), but people disregard this truth. Anyone who is against homosexuality is insulted and mocked. It is the same in abortion. People believe that killing the unborn child is acceptable as long as it benefits the mother. The supporter of abortion believes that the fetus was not a human being, but we see that when Elizabeth (the mother of John the Baptist) heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb (Luke 1:41). It shows that the baby in Elizabeth's womb responded to Mary's greetings.
As believers of Jesus Christ, God wants us to know His truth in the Bible and live by them. As we live by them, we are living our lives in God's righteousness. But as we live our lives in God's righteousness, we may receive insults and mockery from those who do not believe in God. But do not be surprised because even Jesus experienced them. The most important thing is that we belong in the kingdom of Heaven (God). There will be a day when God's judgment will come upon this earth, and those who are against the truth of God will be condemned forever, but those who believe in the truth of God will enter the kingdom of Heaven.
Ask yourself these questions: What should I believe as a believer of Jesus Christ? How should I live my life as a believer in today's society?
Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, thank you for your Word. Please continue to teach me your ways that I may walk in them. Please protect my mind from the lies of Satan. Please help me to live my life according to your righteousness. In Your name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
