BE COURAGEOUS

Updated: Feb 11, 2021

Joshua was the person that God chose to replace Moses to lead over 1 million people of Israel to the land that God promised them. When God chose Joshua to become the next leader of the nation of Israel, God had to encourage Joshua to be strong and courageous. Before becoming the next leader of the nation of Israel, he was the faithful servant of Moses. Joshua saw what Moses had gone through when he was leading the nation of Israel. Moses struggled a lot because the nation of Israel was rebellious and always complaining.

Joshua felt inadequate or feeling not qualified to lead the nation of Israel. In like manner, we may feel the same way when we face something too overwhelming for us to handle. For example, you have too much to do in school, but you have a short amount of time to do it. Or, you don’t have enough knowledge and strength to do what you need to do. When confronted with these situations, we tend to become nervous and want to give up and not continue. However, God is telling us that we need to be strong and courageous because He is with us wherever we go. He is the one who is going to give us wisdom, direction, strength, and provision so that we can accomplish the things that He wants us to achieve. Always remember that there is nothing too difficult for God to handle. He can sustain us in whatever we need in this life. All we have to do is to trust Him and walk with Him daily.

Joshua was able to successfully lead the nation of Israel to the land that God had promised them. He faced many difficult situations as he was leading the nation of Israel. He fought many enemies, but God sustained him, and God was by his side because he completely trusted and obeyed God. God will do the same thing with us when we trust and obey Him, so let us be courageous and strong today as we go to school or work, for God is with us. He will help us with everything that we face today. If your situation is too difficult for you to handle, ask God to help you and do whatever you can and don’t give up, and God will help you to go through it.

Ask yourself these questions: What should I do when I face a difficult situation? What does God promise me when I am going through my problems if I trust and obey Him?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for always being there for me. You know everything that I am going through, and there is nothing hidden from you. You see all the struggles that I have, so this morning, I lift my prayer request to you (mention your prayer request). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
