Healing is something that we all need, whether physical or spiritual. Our Lord Jesus brought healing to us by carrying our sins in his body on the cross so that as He died on the cross, we too would die on our sins, and as He was resurrected from the dead, we too would live for righteousness. There is always a controversy about healing that comes from our Lord Jesus. Many people believe that when we become believers, we will all be healed of all our sickness, and if we do not get healed, it means that there is still sin in our hearts. The problem with this belief is that it is a wrong interpretation. There are many godly men and women who died of sickness, and God allowed them to die because He wanted them to be home with Him in Heaven. We must understand that we are not meant to live on this earth forever. Our existing body cannot live forever because of sin. Our body is getting older, and sooner or later, all our organs will fail because of age. God promised us a new body that will last for eternity, and we will receive a new body when it is time for Him to take us home to be with Him.
Death is not the end of us all, but it is a new beginning of life without sin and death. Our life in heaven will be far better than our life on this earth. The most important healing we have received from God is our spiritual healing. Our spiritual healing will last forever, but our earthly body healing is only temporary. No matter how advanced our health technologies are, we cannot stop people from dying. As believers, we need to thank the Lord for our spiritual healing. However, as we are still living on this earth, we can ask God for our physical healing, go to the doctor, take our medicine, exercise and eat healthy food to heal and take care of our bodies, but we also need to realize that our time on this earth is up to God. And when God chooses not to heal us, it doesn't mean that we are sinning, but it means that God wants us to go home with Him in His wonderful place, called Heaven.
Let us thank the Lord for taking care of our sin on the cross that we might die to sins and live for righteousness. By the wounds that He took on the cross, God brought spiritual healing to us. God still works miracle healings in our body, but we have to remind ourselves that our existence in this world is only temporary. Our final destination is to be with God in Heaven, where there is no more death and sin.
Ask yourself these questions: How did God heal me spiritually? How can I be healed spiritually? Do I believe that God can heal me physically?
Write down all the worries you are facing today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, thank you for my spiritual healing and the hope that I have in you that someday I will be with you in heaven forever. Please heal my body from sickness, and I believe that you can still work miracles. You know everything that is going on in my body, so I put my faith in you that you can heal me. Please use the doctor and my medicines to heal my body. I also pray that you will give me the strength to live for you until you decide to take me home to be with you forever. In your name Jesus, I pray. Amen.
