One of the reasons God blesses us is that God wants to use us as the channel of His blessings. It is not meant for us to hoard the blessings that God has provided us, but to share our blessings with others. As we share our blessings with others, God then blesses us more. When we think of His blessings, we normally think of money or material things of this world. But the ultimate blessings that God has given us is the life of His Son, Jesus Christ. It is through the life of our Lord Jesus that we are saved and given eternal life. God saved us so that we can worship Him and be a blessing in this world. God wants to use our lives to bring hope to this world.
The saltiest sea in this world is the Dead Sea, located in the southern part of Israel. It is called the Dead Sea because it is very salty that no animals, fish, and plants can live. The reason it is salty is because of all the minerals that wash through the Jordan River. The water that flows through the Jordan River ends up in the Dead Sea, and since the Dead Sea does not have an outlet, the minerals are trapped in it. The Dead Sea is a picture of a person who only receives blessings but never shares them. When we are not willing to share the blessings that God has given us, we become stagnant in our lives, and eventually, we will miss the opportunities to be the channel of God's blessings. The more we bless others, the more God blesses our lives. Jesus said, "It is better to give than to receive." (Acts 20:35).
Let us take the opportunity to bless others today through our kindness, love, giving, or sharing our faith with others. We can be a blessing in so many ways. We can help others who may need help. We can pray for someone or encourage those who need to be encouraged. We can forgive those who hurt or offended us. Let us take advantage of being a channel of God's blessings today.
Ask yourself these questions: Why does God bless me? Am I willing for God to use my life as the channel of His blessings? What are the reasons, if there is any, that I am not willing to be a channel of God's blessing?
Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, thank you for all your blessings. As you provide for all my needs, please help to be a channel of your blessings. I want to be a blessing to others just as you are blessing me. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
