GOD CREATED US FOR HIS WILL

There is a significant difference between human beings and animals. Humans are created in the image of God, while animals are not. This distinction is a key reason why humans did not evolve from apes, contrary to the claims of evolutionists. To be created in the image of God, humans were given a free choice to make decisions on their own and have the freedom to exercise their decisions, whether they are good or bad. God did not create humans like robots. He created us as autonomous human beings who can act according to our own free will. However, before giving us free will to make our own choices, God provided the foundation of morality to us. Morality is a system of principles and values that guide us to know right from wrong, good from bad, and act accordingly. In Genesis 2:16-17, God commanded Adam, saying, "You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden—except for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die." This command illustrates that Adam has the freedom to choose whether to obey God or not. His moral values indicate that obedience to God is good, while disobedience is bad.
Our moral values, knowing what is good and bad, did not come from the Word of God or the Bible. God gave us the moral values during the time when God created human beings in the Garden of Eden. However, when God gave us His Word, the Bible, it enhanced our knowledge of good and evil. All human beings, whether we believe in God or not, have a foundation of moral values. We do not function as animals because we are different than the animal kingdom. We are created in the image of God, knowing what is good and what is wrong according to God's standards. Today, we must remind ourselves that God created us to obey His will, and not our will. Our obedience should come from our loving relationship with Him, rather than simply being an obligation. If we want God's blessings in our lives, we must obey Him. John 14:21 says, "Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them."
Adam enjoyed the Garden of Eden while obeying God's command; however, everything changed for the worse the moment he disobeyed God. God desires us to have a fulfilling life, but we can only achieve this by following His guidance.
Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) How did God instill in me when He created me? How should I exercise my freedom of choice? How can I achieve a fulfilling life?
Take a moment to write down all your worries today. Then, lift them up to God in prayer, surrendering them to His will and trusting in His guidance.
Prayer:
Dear Father in Heaven, thank you for granting me the freedom to choose. I am always tempted to choose my own will over yours, and I believe that your will in my life is what is best for me. Every time I follow my own desires over yours, it leads me to trouble and to sin. Please help me to obey you. In your name, Jesus, I pray, Amen.
