FREEDOM FROM SIN

When Adam sinned in the garden of Eden, sin entered into the world, and it affected everything that was in the world, including the human race. Death and destruction came along with it because the result of sin was death (Romans 5:12). The world began to groan with suffering and decay (Romans 8:22). As we look around today, we see the air and waste pollution are everywhere. There are rivers, and even part of the oceans, filled with garbage and toxic pollutions that no human beings can swim or come near it. Environmentalists try to save the world from pollutions, but it is a herculean task because as long as sin is in humankind's hearts, it is impossible to save the world.

But the worst thing about sin entering the world is that we all become under sin, affecting our soul, body, and spirit. Our soul, which is our mind and emotions, is affected by pain and suffering. Our body became susceptible to all kinds of illness and decay. Our spirit lost its connections with God. We become spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1). But because of the grace of God, He made us alive through faith in our Lord Jesus (Ephesians 2:5). It was only through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus that we receive our freedom from the power of sin.

We can now say "no" to sin and choose the ways of God, as opposed to the sinful ways of this world. Our faith in the Lord Jesus is the only way that can save us from sin. The power of our Lord Jesus can renew our soul, body, and spirit, and there will be a time when God is going to restore the world from decay and suffering. As we are now in the freedom of Christ, we have the responsibility to share our faith with others who do not know the truth of Christ so that they may believe in Him and be restored from sin. God wants to use us to tell others about the freedom that we have in our Lord Jesus.

Ask yourself these questions: Why is there so much suffering and death in the world? Who can restore me and the world from the power of sin? What does God want me to do as I live in the freedom of Christ?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for saving me from the power of sin through my Lord Jesus. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for dying for my sin on the cross so that I can be forgiven and live in your freedom. Please help me share my faith with others who do not know your truth so that they can believe and enjoy your freedom. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
