COMPLETELY TRUSTING GOD

When Joseph was sold to slavery by his brothers, he experienced the most painful and difficult part of his life. He was betrayed by his own brothers and became a slave in Egypt without any hope of being rescued by anyone. The only thing that he had was his faith and trust in God. In the midst of his suffering, he never doubted God, but instead, his trust in God grew stronger. As a result, God was with him and blessed him in his situation. Interestingly, God did not take him out of his misery as a slave, but God walked with him through it because God had a plan in his life. However, Joseph had to discover later that God's plan was to make him the second-highest official in Egypt to save people from a severe famine that was to come.

Trusting God in the middle of the storm in our life is the safest place to be in. When we are in the middle of a huge storm, we normally take shelter in our house or a building. I remember last year when we had a tornado that hit Dallas. I drove to a parking garage of one of the churches in the area. The heavy rain and strong wind passed through the parking garage, picking up objects and tossed them everywhere. No matter how dangerous my situation was, I trusted the parking garage that it would protect me. After about an hour, the wind and rain subsided, and I was able to get home safely.

There are times that the only thing that we have is our trust in God, like Joseph. However, it is the safest and comfortable place to be in because we experience the power of God working in and through our lives. There is no other shelter than our God. Money, jobs, education, savings, retirement, and other things we can gain in this world could never save us when we face our mortality. All the things that we can have in this world can be taken away instantly, but no one can take away our faith and trust in our Lord Jesus. So let us continue to trust in our Lord Jesus and take shelter in Him in the midst of our difficult situations.

Ask yourself these questions: Do I trust God with all of my heart? Do I completely trust God in my current difficult situation? What should I do when I face a difficult problem in my life?

Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you that you are my shelter and help in times of my needs. Please help me to trust you completely and never doubt your goodness in my life. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
