King David praised the Lord for delivering him from his enemies, "I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High (Psalm 9:1-2)." King David knew and believed that God was just to execute judgment on the wicked, and He saved those who were oppressed. He said, "But the Lord reigns forever, executing judgment from his throne. He will judge the world with justice and rule the nations with fairness. The Lord is a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you (Psalm 9:7-10)."
The biggest reason that King David defeated all his enemies was that he always trusted in God's deliverance. He became the most powerful king because of God. We all go through difficult situations, but we need to trust God's deliverance, just like what King David did. Ultimately, God is going to judge the nations of this world and deliver those who believe in the Lord Jesus. God will never abandon us, no matter what happens in our life. When the world tries to persecute us because of our faith in the Lord Jesus, we need to be encouraged that there will be a day when Jesus will judge this world with justice. He will reign, and all his enemies will bow down before Him, including Satan and the demons.
Let us persevere in our faith in the Lord Jesus. Let us trust in our God's deliverance. He will deliver us from our hardship because He is just and will never abandon us. The Lord is our shelter forever. Let us be confident that God will work on everything we are going through today.
Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through carefully and meditate on the questions while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you). Who can deliver me from my problems? What does God do to the nations when He comes back? Do I trust in God's deliverance in my current situation?
Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, thank you for being my deliverer. You see my troubles and hardships. Please deliver me. I need you to work things out. There will be a day when you will make everything right and judge the wicked of this world. In the meantime, please help me to trust you completely and not be afraid. In your name, Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.
