THE LOVE, GRACE, AND MERCY OF GOD TOWARDS US

Easter or Resurrection Sunday happened because of the love, grace, and mercy of God towards us. God loves us so much that He sacrificed His only Son, Jesus, to die for the penalty of our sins and took our place on the cross. We are guilty of our sins, not Jesus, yet He died for us. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says, "For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ." God could have left us with our sins and died, but He loved us so strongly that He was willing to do anything to save us. John 3:16 says, " For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." God was also gracious to us for not allowing us to get what we deserve for our sins, which is death, but instead, He gave us eternal life when we believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Ephesians 2:8 says, "God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God." He was also merciful to us because He didn't give us what we deserved, which is eternal punishment in hell, but He has forgiven us for all the sins that we have committed because Jesus died on the cross on our behalf.
Easter or Resurrection Sunday has a deep impact on our forgiveness and salvation, so taking it lightly is showing ungratefulness to the God who showed us His love, grace, and mercy. The death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus is what makes us Christians. We are alive today spiritually because of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. We are brand new people, full of hope, because our Lord Jesus is alive today. All of our past sins have been forgiven because they have been nailed to the cross. We can now move on with a new life in Him. Let us not allow the guilt and shame of the past because all of our sins have been washed away with the blood that our Lord Jesus shed on the cross. When those past sins tried to hunt us, let us remember the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus.
As we celebrate Easter or Resurrection Sunday this weekend, let us thank our God for all He has done in our lives. Let us remember His love, grace, and mercy that He has shown us on the cross and the empty grave. We are so much loved by the one who created us for Himself.
Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) Why is Easter or Resurrection Sunday meaningful? What should be my attitude in remembering the death and resurrection of my Lord Jesus? What should I do if my past sins try to hunt me?
Take a moment to write down all your worries today. Then, lift them to God in prayer, surrendering them to His will and trusting in His guidance.
Prayer:
Dear Father in Heaven, I am so grateful and thankful for your love, grace, and mercy that you have shown me in the death and resurrection of my Lord Jesus. I am forgiven of my sins, saved from the penalty of sins, and have received eternal life because of what my Lord Jesus has done for me. Please help me not to take for granted everything that you have done for me. I surrender everything to you, for you deserve all of me. In your name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
