For the last several months, many people are suffering because of COVID-19 and the rioting and looting across the United States. People are looking for answers to the pandemic and social injustices, but they are struggling to be united in finding solutions to eradicate COVID-19 and stop social injustices and crimes. The reason is that only Jesus is the only solution to all of these. Jesus said that He is the light of the world. Anyone who will follow Him will not walk in darkness but walk in the light.
Jesus has the answer to COVID-19. He can quickly destroy the virus, and we will not have to worry about it. However, God allows it to affect us because He wants us to learn to trust in Him. He is using the pandemic to humble us so that we will seek Him. Moreover, God has the power to heal all of our sicknesses, including COVID-19. He is the one who created our body, so He knows how to treat it. In the stories in the gospel, we have read that Jesus healed so many people with different kinds of illnesses. If Jesus had done it before, He could certainly do it today. In regards to social injustice and crime, the source of the problem is the heart of people. Only Jesus can change the heart of humankind. If we believe and follow Jesus, God will change our hearts. Instead of committing evil deeds, God will change our hearts to do good. We will then live in the fruit of the Holy Spirit, such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23).
The solution to our struggles is Jesus because He is the light of the world. Jesus is the only one who can lead us to the answers to our problems. Jesus came to our world to bring salvation to all humankind. He is the only one who can change our hearts and bring peace in our lives and this world. If Jesus is the light of this world, we need to let our families and friends know about Jesus. Do not be afraid to let them know.
Ask yourself these questions: Who is the light of the world? What is the source of the problem of humankind? What can I do to help my family and friends to know the light of the world?
Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank you for being the light of this world. Thank you for teaching me that you are the answer to all my struggles. Please give me the wisdom and the courage to share you to my family and friends that you are the light of this world. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
