There are many ways God speaks to us directly. He speaks to us through the nature around us. When we see the stars, the sun, the moon, the mountains, the oceans, etc., we see the marvelous works of His hands. God can use His nature to speak to us of His greatness and sovereign power and how much He can provide and take care of us. God speaks through dreams. Although many dreams do not mean a lot of things, God can use dreams to speak to us. Many people across the world came to know our Lord Jesus through dreams. Through our senses, he can speak to us, like things that we can see, hear, touch, smell, and taste. God has unlimited resources to speak to us if only we are willing to be sensitive to His presence in our lives.
The biggest reason we do not hear His still small voice in our hearts is that we are too busy with our daily routines that we forget that God lives in us. We do not take time to slow down, sit still, and spend quality time with Him. A quality time with God does not mean 1 hour or more. We can have quality time with God in a few minutes if we sit still, do our daily devotion, pray, close our eyes, be silent for a moment, and ask God to speak to us. If we actively seek God every day through our daily devotion or daily routine, we will start to recognize His voice in our hearts. There are many times that God speaks to me in very random situations because I am always open for God to speak to me. One day, while I was driving, I saw a baby daughter sleeping soundly on his father's arms while they were standing at the bus stop. Despite the loud noise and chaos of the traffic, the baby girl found comfort and peace in the arms of her father. God used the baby daughter's experience to remind me how much I am secure in His arms. That no matter what happens, I am safe in His loving and strong arms.
God is closed to us than we ever think, and He is always speaking to us, but we are the ones that are too busy to recognize His still small voice in our hearts. It's alright to slow down and sit still in the presence of God. Let us take the time to listen to Him.
Ask yourself these questions: Am I willing to listen to God, or am I too busy that I don't care about God speaking to me? Am I willing to set aside time to spend time with Him and be still in His presence? What should I need to do to hear God's still small voice in my heart?
Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
