Psalm 47 is a Psalm of praise. The Psalmist was praising God for God's greatness as the King over all the earth. He sovereignly chose the nation of Israel as His people whom He loved, and He defeated their enemies. Psalmist expressed his praise to God, "God has ascended with a mighty shout. The Lord has ascended with trumpets blaring. Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises! For God is the King over all the earth. Praise him with a psalm. God reigns above the nations, sitting on his holy throne. The rulers of the world have gathered together with the people of the God of Abraham. For all the kings of the earth belong to God. He is highly honored everywhere (Psalm 47:5-9)."
God chose the nation of Israel as His people out of His sovereign will and not because they were good or very capable, gifted people. God chose them because He chose to love them. Similarly, God chose us before the creation of the world according to His love for us. He knew us before we even existed and eventually adopted us as His children when we believed in Him (Ephesians 1:4-6). And this is the reason we praise and worship Him because of His goodness to us. God chose us to be His children, not because of what we can offer or do for Him. He chose us before we were born. All along ever since we were babies, He knew and loved us. Let us take time to praise our God. So, how do we praise God? One of the ways to praise our God is through singing. Let us use praise and worship songs that we hear from Christian radio stations to learn songs to express our love and gratitude to our God. If you play any musical instrument or have a gifted voice, let us sing and play our instrument to the Lord. He deserves our praise and worship. Even if we do not have a good voice, let us sing praises to Him, for He deserves our praise.
There are so many things that we can praise our God for. Let us express our love, adoration, and gratitude to Him by praising Him. Let the Christian radio stations or the internet music apps help us sing praises to our God.
