SECURED IN HEAVEN

Not all people can enter Heaven, for Heaven is only reserved for those whose names are written in the Book of Life. Revelation 3:5 says, "All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and His angels that they are Mine." And Revelation 20:15 says, "And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire." The only way to add our name to the Book of Life is to believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." Our sins must be forgiven in order for us to enter Heaven, and the only way that we can be forgiven of our sins is to believe in Jesus as our Lord and Savior, for He died for our sins. Jesus paid the penalty of our sins on the cross; as a result, we have been reconciled with our God the Father. Romans 5:10 says, "For if, while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!" 

Our eternal life is associated with Heaven, for that is where we will spend our eternity. The belief that our soul will just vanish or float around in this world when we die is not God's teachings. The Bible clearly teaches that when we die, our soul will go directly to Heaven, in the very presence of our Heavenly Father, and those who rejected Jesus as their Lord and Savior will not go to Heaven, for their names will not be written in the Book of Life. Their souls await the final judgment of God, and after the final judgment of God, they will be separated from Him for eternity in hell. As believers of our Lord Jesus, our destiny to Heaven has been secured by our Heavenly Father. The moment we put our faith in Jesus, we are secured. Nothing can separate us from the love of our Heavenly Father. We are forever His no matter what happens in this world, even when we fail Him. Our salvation is not based on our good works, but by His grace. We received His grace when we put our faith in our Lord Jesus. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." 

Our names have been written in the Book of Life because we have put our faith in our Lord Jesus; as a result, our place in Heaven has been secured and guaranteed by our Heavenly Father. 

Questions for application: (Think through these questions carefully, meditate on them while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you.) What happens to my soul when I die as a believer in Jesus Christ? How do I know that I am secured to go to Heaven? What must a person do to go to Heaven?

Take a moment to write down all your worries today. Then, lift them to God in prayer, surrendering them to His will and trusting in His guidance.

Prayer:

Dear Father in Heaven, thank you that my name is written in the Book of Life. I praise you for saving me through my Lord Jesus. Please help me never to lose hope, for my future is secured in you. I may struggle in this world, but there is a time when all my struggles end, and I will be with you forever in Heaven. In your name, Jesus, I pray. Amen.
