Achieving our goals in life requires hard work and sacrifice. However, many people are not willing to do what it takes to achieve their goals. For example, people want to be successful in life, but they are unwilling to put the time and effort to be successful. If we want to be a doctor, a lawyer, a minister, or a successful business person, we need to be willing to study and do all the sacrificial work to achieve it. But if we are not willing to pursue our goals because it is difficult, we will never advance. We will end up a person who dreams of big things but never achieve anything. Although God has a great plan in our lives and wants us to be successful, He can never lead us if we are unwilling to take the chance and the risk of pursuing what God has put in our hearts.
The Bible says that it is better to suffer for doing good than to suffer for doing evil. When Sinday arrived in America, he hardly spoke English. It was not easy for him to go to school because he was behind in English and other subjects. However, he was determined to pursue a computer career, so he studied hard. When he was still in High School, he would come to my place and asked me all kinds of computer questions because he was determined to learn. He did not allow his shortcomings to stop him, but he kept on learning. As a result, he graduated from UTD with a computer science degree and is now working. Not so on some of his friends. Some of his friends gave up and dropped out. As a result, they are not doing too well in life.
Let us not give up on doing good just because it is a difficult road, but rather, we need to be determined to face hardship on doing good. Because in due time, we will harvest the fruit of our hard labor. We have a good Father in Heaven that is always with us. He is always there to help us to go through this life. When the challenges of life become tough, we can always rely on our loving Father's strength.
Ask yourself these questions: Am I willing to face difficult challenges in life in pursuing my goal? What does God want me to do when facing difficulties? Should I give up on doing good when it is too difficult?
Write down all the worries that you are facing today and lift them up to God.
Prayer:
Father in Heaven, thank you that you are always with me and that you are always there to help me when I am facing difficult situations in my life. Please help me to continue to do what is good and never give up. Please help me now with (mention your prayer requests). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
