OUR HEAVENLY FATHER

Our Father in Heaven is the God who called us as His children because He loves us sacrificially and faithfully. 1 John 3:1 says, "See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don't recognize that we are God's children because they don't know him." Our Father adopted us as His children when we believed and gave our lives to our Lord Jesus (John 1:12). Our Father in Heaven loved us so much that He gave His only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for us so that when we believed in our Lord Jesus, we would not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16). When we watched a movie about our Lord Jesus, we see the power and miracles that Jesus had done. But Jesus came to do the will of our Father in Heaven. Jesus said this in John 6:38, "For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will."

Our Lord Jesus came to do the will of our Father, and the will of our Father is to save us from our sins so that we can be with Him forever in Heaven. When our Heavenly Father sacrificed our Lord Jesus on the cross, it grieved Him dearly because He loved our Lord Jesus. However, He must sacrifice His Son for our sake because He loves us dearly. Although we have not seen our Heavenly Father, we have to be encouraged that we have a Heavenly Father that loves and watches over us. We have a Heavenly Father who loves us more than our earthly father can love us. Our Heavenly Father is different than any father in this world. Our father in this world is imperfect, but our Heavenly Father is perfect. We may not have a good earthly father, but we have a Heavenly Father who loves and cares about us and is for us.

There is a tendency to compare our Heavenly Father with our earthly father, but we must remember that our Heavenly Father is perfect and without sin, and so He is different from our earthly fathers. Our Heavenly Father is always with us; we can pray to Him anytime. He knows what we are going through and sees our tears. He understands our needs and wants to lead us to the right path, but we must follow His ways and surrender our lives to Him.

Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through carefully and meditate on the questions while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you) How do I feel knowing that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me? Am I willing to allow my Heavenly Father to lead me to the right path? What must I do to allow my Heavenly Father to lead me?

Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank you for adopting me as your child through my faith in my Lord Jesus. Thank you for sacrificially loving me by sacrificing your only Son to die on the cross for my sin. I surrender my life to you so that you may lead me to the right path. In your Son's name Jesus, I pray. Amen.
