As we enter 2024, we have to remind ourselves that God already knows what will happen throughout this year, for He is an all-knowing God. There is nothing that surprised Him. As a result, we can rely on God for our well-being and care. When the prophet Jeremiah was confined in the courtyard of his enemies because he told them the coming judgment of God because of their rebellion against God, God comforted him with these words, "Call on me in prayer, and I will answer you. I will show you great and mysterious things that you still do not know about (Jeremiah 33:3)." As Jeremiah suffered from the hands of his people, God revealed to Jeremiah the coming judgment of his nation under the Babylonian empire, but after 70 years of captivity in the Babylonian empire, God will restore them to their land. God revealed to Jeremiah things that only God can know about the future of His people, Israel.
There are a lot of unknowns in 2024. However, if we apply to our lives what Jeremiah did during his captivity, God will guide us through it and reveal to us what we must do. Jeremiah called on God in prayer, and God revealed to Him things that he didn't know. We need to continue to pray to God and listen to what He is telling us to do. Prayer must come with obedience to God, or else God will not be able to guide us. Jeremiah prayed to God because he trusted God with all his heart. He didn't have any reservations about following God. He was all in with God. When we encounter any challenges this year, let us look up to God and pray. He is our Savior who can reveal to us great things that we do not know.
Although there are many unknowns in 2024, we have confidence in God because God is already ahead of us. We can call to Him in prayer at any time, and He will answer us and show us the way.
Ask yourself these questions for application: (Think through carefully and meditate on the questions while answering them, and let the Spirit of God speak to you). Since God is an all-knowing God, how should I live my life in 2024? What does God promise when I call to Him? Why is it important for me to obey God in my prayers?
Write down all the worries you face today and lift them up to God.

Father in Heaven, I praise you that you are an all-knowing God. There is nothing that surprises you, and you can reveal to me what I must do. In this New Year, would you please continue to guide me to do your will? Please guide me with your wisdom and help me to obey you. In your name, Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.
